Feb 19, 2009 Cask sample at the brewpub. Pours brown with a nice light brown head. Smells of chocolate and roasted malt. Tastes of roasted malt, some spicy hints, roasty, lightly bitter on the finish.

Oct 8, 2007 On cask at the brewpub. Pours deep dark brown with off-white head. Roasty and malty aroma. Good balance of hops. Chocolate and caramel notes. Roasty. Finish is chocolatety. Very nice.

Feb 27, 2007 sampled at the brewpub. When I was first looking at my sampler, I thought this was going to be a brown ale or something of the sort, then my friend points out it’s the porter. It’s clear amber in color with reddish hues. Aroma was caramel with a touch of chocolate and toasted malt. Taste was pretty much the same, with some light notes of butter and vanilla. Thin bodied.
