Commercial Description:
One of the most popular beers we brew; this is our version of a traditional brown ale. A truly tasty beer, Farmer Brown is low in bitterness with a smooth and malty finish. Like its namesake, it’s outstanding in it’s field!

on tap-pours a light brown head and dark brown color with red tint. Aroma is sweet dark malt-molasses/chocolate, dark fruit-raisin. Taste is sweet dark malt-molasses/chocolate, dark fruit-raisin/cherry with some tart. Dry over takes sweet by mid-palate. Taste not up to aroma for me. 3.2

Pours a three finger light tan head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Almost black cloudy mahogany color. Roasted malt nose. Light-medium carbonation and light-medium bodied. Flavor is malty, smooth, not overly sweet - decent brown. $3.55 for a 22oz bottle from Ruggeri & Sons Greenfield, MA.

Bottle. Pours black with a moderate tan head. Bubbles that coat the glass. Aroma of cherries, nuts, and cotton candy. Taste was sweet but not overwhelming with a nutty malty backbone. Thick mouthfeel.

This was unique. An ENglish mild. Winey aroma and colour, with merlot taste. Yet there was no wine barreling. Very little bitterness, and a tad of syrupiness. Very light body and easy drinking at 5.2%. A wine replacement.

Not the usual smooth brown ale that I have had before. Pours quite dark with little head. Malty and has some bitterness. Not my favorite brown ale.

Ugh! It smelled like vinegar... it tasted like vinegar but with a very very watery mouthfeel. Still better than any bud product tho.

22 oz. bottle. I’ll give them credit, its not a typical brown ale. Has some positive notes and negative. Pours an opaque dark brown with a thin off-white head that was chased away in about 30 seconds. Aroma of coffee and bittersweet chocolate a definite plus. Sweet, nutty flavor is offset by a weird taste like wet cardboard. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Glad I shared this bottle with my wife, I don’t think I would have finished 22 oz. of this beer.
