| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Poured an opaque black color with no head, and no lacing on the glass either. Aroma of caramel malts, roast, chocolate, and toast. Taste of anise, light smoke, roasted malts, caramel, and a bit of chocolate. Not a stellar oatmeal stout. RIXbeer (102), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Growler from the source. Filled my pint glass with this bewitched black/brown (mostly black) potion. The 1/4" head faded pretty quickly into a nice thin ring that leaves some nice lacing along the edges. Coffee, chocolate, licorice and a nice subtle hint of oatmeal in a very mild aroma. Bitter sweet taste. of oatmeal and coffee with the tiniest hint of oatmeal and licorice. A nice after taste that doesn’t last for more than a minute or two. Silky smooth feel with a really nice thickness without being at all overwhelming. This is a mouthful at a time beer. No sipper, no gulper. But you should sit back and enjoy. RCL (1480), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 19, 2007 Light brown pour with an average head. Sweet notes in the aroma that are more prevalent than the underlying coffee notes. Strong coffee flavor. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Good beer, not great. As this one warmed, I got some diacetyl in the aroma that grew more pronounced. jimhilt (1687), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
