Commercial Description:
Originally, hops were added to India Pale Ale to preserve freshness on long sea voyages- we add them for thier pleasant bitterness. For you hop heads out there, this is the beer for you. It’s a wall of Cascade hops-come climb it if you dare.

(cask) Lightly hazed amber with beige head. Aroma and taste are medium sweet, caramel, grapefruit. Watery light-medium body, easy drinking. Very mild IPA.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of zrrbrrt. Poured a medium amberish color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of earthiness, floral, some cardboard, and citrus. Tastes of caramel, citrus, and earthy. Probably an older bottle (send me a fresh one!).

Cask@GBBF04’. Didn’t like the name, but i tried not to judge a book by its cover. Pretty wierd, all i could taste was dog biscuits and odd cosmetic type flavours, pretty wierd.

Bottle: Pours a clear amber orange with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt and a touch of orangey citrus hops. Body starts somewhat sugary with light caramel maltiness and a decent bittering and flavor hoppy presence. Could be a little more assertive and balanced, but otherwise a decent IPA.

[Cask conditioned] Strange aroma with notes of cider and bubblegum. The flavour is very hoppy with a bitter finish.

My Bottom Line:
Orangey and resinous hops develop plenty of bitterness for the relaxed caramel malts to cuddle with in this substantial India Pale Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy amber.
-The body is round and the carbonation rather low, making for a nourishing mouthfeel.
-Everything you expect from an American IPA is there: aroma, flavor, body, finish and drinkability.
-I guess the freshness of the tap experience serves this beer well compared to those ratings which come from a bottle.

On tap at the brewpub.

Pours amber with a white head. Smells of citrus and pine. Taste is of pine resin, citrus and slightly tart.
