Almost no sweetness, the malt is more doughy. Very well made and fresh. Dark in color, a wonderful clone of Victory’s Hop Devil. A delight and way better than anticipated. Some goodies in the form of bottle-conditioning. Found at Table and Vine. Session written all over it. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2005 I suppose this beer doesn’t travel well overseas, but damn, it travels well down Route 91. From the bottle (mine is labled at 5.2 ABV for what it’s worth...), this beer pours like a bottle conditioned ale, it is, and with little head and a some resin. Beautiful mahogany colored IPA. The aroma is of cascade and butter -- smooth yet spicy -- just like the beer. Fantastically drinkable, just not too shocking, and for whatever reason, that’s what people look for in IPAs now. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 25, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Orangey and resinous hops develop plenty of bitterness for the relaxed caramel malts to cuddle with in this substantial India Pale Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the hazy amber.
-The body is round and the carbonation rather low, making for a nourishing mouthfeel.
-Everything you expect from an American IPA is there: aroma, flavor, body, finish and drinkability.
-I guess the freshness of the tap experience serves this beer well compared to those ratings which come from a bottle.
