Black body, with a small scattered off white head. A pleasant mild roasty aroma struggles to compete with the tantalizing aromas eminating from the kitchen. In the flavour the roast is mild-moderate but is still the dominant flavour over some sweet malt. Flavour gives the impression of cold black coffee against glimpses of bitter dark chocolate or cocoa. Lingering roasty aftertaste. Body is average but smooth. I’m pretty fussy about my stouts and I like them a little chewier and less dry than this. Nice beer though, enjoyed in my Irish national football jersey on St. Patrick’s day. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada

Dark brown, trace of red, small, quick fading, tan head. Flavour is subdued coffee, dark malt also. Light bodied, roasty, dry and bitter. Really nice. (Served too cold. It was much improved as it warmed up.)
