Commercial Description:
Miner Mishap is our version of a traditional German Schwarzbier, also known as "Black Pilsner" or simply "Black Lager". Our traditional version was formulated by our friend William Scott (or Scotty as he's known around the brewery), an award-winning homebrewer and certified beer judge who has always been very generous about sharing his creations and his seemingly unlimited knowledge of beer. It seemed only fitting that since we started out as a homebrewery, we would try and recreate one of Scotty's homebrews (which are typically 5 or 10 gallon batched) here in our 15 barrel (465 gallon) brewhouse. Brewed almost entirely with malt imported from Weyermann Specialty Malts in Bamberg, Germany and hopped with Imported German Perle and Hallertaur Mittlefreu hops, Miner Mishap is truly a one-of-a-kind original.

(Bottle, courtesy of Swalden 28) Pours a brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa, vanilla, molasses, and maple. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and a quite displeasing buttery taste (DMS).
