Commercial Description:
The Italian immigrants came to Krebs to work in the coal mines that were prevalent in the area at the turn of the century. They wore a light on their hat to show the way through the mines; at the end of the day their "miners light" led the way to a nice, tall, cold beer. A traditional American style beer - dry, light bodied, yet full flavored with a touch of hop finesse, we present Miners Light beer to reflect the tradition of full flavor and sparkling golden brilliance that was so popular with the miners of early day Krebs.

12oz bottle-pours a thin white head and cloudy yellow color. Aroma is musty, wheat, funky. Taste is musty, wheat, funky, faint hops. OK effervescence. Not quite up to the American Wheat except for the carbonation/effervescence.

Pours straw color with a thin white head. Smells of sweet malt and stray hops. Tastes light and citrussy. Decent for a session beer.

Same appearance as the peach beer: straw light yellow, BMC-like, and getting pretty close to crystal clear. Has pretty much no aroma or flavor for the most part, until a finish full of grainy corn and fuel on the back of the throat. The rest is flavorless and fizzy.

Draught, GABF 2003. Body is light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, cereal), with a note of DMS. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly bitter, unclean. Light body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Striving for greatness this is not.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, gold body with, well, not much head. Smell: Faint whiffs of malt, corn, and spicy hops. Moving on! Taste: Faint light pale malts paired with some choice corn kernels. Lightly sweet. Spicy hops with just a hint of citrus flavor and bitterness, all of it light, mind you. Drying, crisp finish. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Just a hair above medium carbonation. Drinkability: Just what you’d expect it to be. It’s a light lager and not too far removed from what you’d get from Budmilloors.

Very clear golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of soap, light malt, lemons and nothing else. Light-bodied; Short flavour of soap, malt, cardboard, water and nothingness. Aftertaste as clean as a glass of lemon-water with a residual soapiness. Overall, a pretty bad beer - even if it is in fact a ’light’ beer. Don’t worry about trying this one, even if you are from out of town and want to sample as many beers as possible. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Joe’s Place in Oklahoma City (Norman), Oklahoma on 26-May-2007 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
