Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Oct 24, 2009 Pours a dark, hazy amber-straw with a pillowy white head and some sizable suspended sediment. Even the head looks like I sprinkled Nutmeg on it. As the head retreats it leaves behind cascading, patchy lace. The nose is nice and subtle: soft wheat, sweet and spicy with Curacao orange peel and coriander coming forward in the profile. Light-bodied, with assertive carbonation, mild tartness and a lightly spicy yet clean finish. Soft, sweet wheat with orange peel transitioning to a dry coriander finish. This has a rounder/fuller flavor profile than many wits. Not too shabby. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Oct 21, 2009 Cloudy yellow color with no head. Aroma has some wheat and faint citrus zest. Flavor is dirty, light and bland. dmac (1420), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Oct 21, 2009 12 oz bottle from Soonah. Ugly poor with a slimey looking pale hazed yellow body sitting underneath a small spattering of urine lookin foam. Aroma of wet wheat, rotting banana, cloves and soapy lemon. Flavor of wheat, lemon and corriander. Notbad buthey it’s a wit after all. JPDIPSO (4865), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 18, 2009 A bright yellow liquid, with a modest off-white head. Hints of wheat and orange peel in the aromas. Has a mild apple pie scent with hints of cinnamon and mace. Big, sweet fruity flavors with apples, plums, pears and banana. Spice mingles in the middle with cinnamon, cloves, mace, and nutmeg. Hints of citrus in the finish. LInger has some circus peanuts and wild berries. Somewhat funky and fruity, and nut funky in the yeasty way I might normally mean funky, just funky. kuphish (150), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a large, frothy, white head. Pale, straw yellow body. Hazy with some yeast cloudiness. Spice aroma of clove and coriander. A bit of wheat and some light latex powder. Faint citrus in the nose. Fairly bland flavors. Less spice than in the nose. A more pronounced stale tire air rubber. Lightly grassy with some cereal and a faint tartness. Light body, fairly thin. Moderate carbonation with a dry finish. Lightly bitter. An ok beer, at best. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Oct 3, 2009 Bottle via kuphish, named ’Choc Waving Wheat’. Clear golden with a small beady white head and a touch of lemon cleaner. Taste is extremely dry and lightly grainy, lemon citrus and faint rubbery (g)rain, some tree sap. Light-bodied with a fizzy attack. Overall impression of dirty yeast. Aftertaste has light, airy muffin-bread. Needs a ton of character if it wants to survive, ugly chicks don’t get by on character. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Sep 19, 2009 Bottled. Poured brighter golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweet toasted bananas paired with peppery wheat and orange zest.. little metallic character on the back of the nose. The flavor was really dominated by sour, bitter orange peel and the same metallic character.. banana and a hit of orange meat at the core.. finished tacky, spicy, and sour.. not so tasty or well executed. Light-bodied and harsh on the palate, and near undrinkable.. not good. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Sep 5, 2009 Nice slightly hazy golden coloured body with a very thin white head. Aroma of pale wheat, light spice and citrus and a mild cardboardie type scent. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong assertive wheat up front with some citrus and light clove flavours noticeable. Aftertaste is fairly mild with more yeast and wheat coming through than any other real tastes. Overall, an acceptable wheat, but not showing much flavours - a bit light and not really recommended. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Toby Keith’s restaurant in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 02-September-2009.
