Pours a nice reddish brown with a good foamy white head. Flavor is good, a nice balance of hops and malt. Still a good "macro-micro’. mrant (330), New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 26, 2008 Smells pleasantly of sweet caramel malt. Some spice to it, maybe cloves. Taste is somewhat weak and watery with a sugary maltiness. Very little to almost absent hops. A different brown ale than I am used to, but still very good. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 20, 2008 Sweet, minimal hops, similar to most macro ales with less punch. Don’t know how this can be considered a craft beer. No bad traits, just too mild in every way. Too sweet also. Goes down easy. Rynoplasty (547), Louisville, Kentucky, USA

Taste is a little light but with some pale and crystal malt flavor. Not bad but not great for sure. thooper41 (393), Oregon, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear amber brown color with a moderate off-white head. Faint aroma of malt, caramel, and a tiny bit of hops. Flavor consists of light toasted caramel malt and a slight sourness. Faint hops on the finish. Pretty simple and plain. Not bad, but not something I will have again in the near future. Wulfstan (509), California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2008 This is tasty, enjoyable, and interesting but not particularly satisfying to me. It is dark brownish red with a big, dense light tan head that lasts a long time and leaves some good lacing. The aroma is caramel, toast, wine and hints of flowery, piney hops. The taste is cherries, wine, grain, with a light earthy toast quality, a light bitterness, but a predominantly sweeet-sour quality. It is a little bland and soft, especially after a while, but tasty and has an interesting complex of flavours. lucke13 (90), Des Moines, Iowa, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 14, 2008 Dark redish-brown with small off-white head. Slight hop smell, more malt. Sweetish malt dominates the taste with some spice, but kinda bland...a little hop bitterness on the finish. A little too watery for my taste.
