Pours a reddish brown color with a head that quickly dissipates. Has a mild caramel sweet and floral hop smell. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is mildly sweet malts with a very slight bitterness to finish. Non offensive taste, easy drinking, and no off flavors... not bad. jan 1994

Had on 1/22/2006. Color is a deep brown with light carbonation and a thin head. Aroma is a sweet roasted malt scent. Taste is clean and roasted. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with a sweet feel. Finish starts with this sweet malt flavor and a mild roasted flavor then is back by a faint bitterness. It all comes off a bit too smooth and seems to be a little flat.

Pours rusty brown with with open tan head. Malty with a bit of pleasant hops and a little chemical aftertaste. Palate is watery and fizzy. Aftertaste is clean.

Bottle, Santa Monica, CA. Coppery brown, small thick head. Fresh malty nose with some hops. Quite fresh and even citric flavor with malts in there and some smooth hops. Nicely fresh for a brown ale.

Draft in pint glass. Pours a clear reddish-brown colour with a small white head. Rather dead aroma, just a hint of hops. Good balance in the flavour with a slight bitter finish. Good brown.

12 oz bottle. Somewhere between ruby and chestnut in colour, I do believe, with a small, diminishing head. Nice caramel-malty aroma, with just some mild British hops. The flavour is mostly caramel again, with the addition of both a mild hoppiness (but not bitterness) and nuttiness. Clean and relatively dry. Moderate to heavy carbonation. Nice beer.

Blandish brown ale. Hops are barely present in the initial taste, only slightly more apparent in the swallow. Good balance, and mouth feel.
