Bottle. Pours a nice reddish brown. Taste is a malt, with a hint of hop. Nothing out of the ordinary, but certainly one of the first "better" US beers I had back in the day.

Reddish brown pour and virtually no head. Tates is some malt and slightly sweet witha bit of hoppy tang. A good refreshing beer but nothing outstanding. If I can find a 6-pack for a decent price I could see drinking it a lot, but it remains to be seen if I can find it around here.

I wish it tasted as good as it looked. Good old fashioned foamy head. Nice golden in color. But taste did not distinguish itself from any other beer of it’s style. It was a decent beer, but I don’t think I will be buying in the future.

Twelve ounce bottle poured a clear, dark coppery red, with a thin, fine-grained head that dispersed into spiderweb lacing. Smells of sugar, malt, prunes, and alcohol; almost identical to Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale. Taste has hints of nuts, caramel, and hops, with a mildly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is distressingly light and uninteresting; I was expecting wicked flavor or carbonation or something ... anything! This beer is pleasant, but nothing really jumps out about it.

Bottle. Nice brown-red with medium-large head that lasts. Aroma is mildly bananas, dry British yeast and some malt. Flavor is similarly mild with mostly yeast and malt on the front, and some small bittering hops on the end. Well balanced, but still has some hop tickle, and a slight sour-dry finish that is satisfying. Palate is more light than medium, and has a nice dry quality with some hop-prickly edges. A widely available fall-back session brew when great beer is hard to find.

Poured a dark copper color with a minimal white head that disappeared quicker than supporters of Alberto Gonzalez. No lacing. The aroma I got initially was banana. Followed up by sugar. Smelled like the grilled plantains you get down at The Columbia restaurant down at St. Armand’s circle in Sarasota. Also noted some malt. The flavor was sour malt with virtually no hops on the backside to bail this mess out. Watery mouthfeel, sour aftertaste.

Yeah, well. My wife got this one on her own and since I ran out of stout, here I am. Not impressed, but it’s not horrible either. A bit "twangy" for me.

Bottle - Dark amber color with rocky off-white head. Sweet roasted malt, slight hops aroma. Flavors of sweet/sour malt, roasted nuts, caramel, ... not much, but slight hoppy aftertaste. Medium bodied / mouthfeel.
