Nice full aroma. Good robust flavor with an aftertaste that sits on your palate in the same matter. Beer lacks a little complexity, but very drinkable. Try it sometime. jb (1056), Rochester, New York, USA

I only wish the head looked as good as in the picture to the left. I wasn’t sure what style this was, I guess brown ale fits. It is not real distinctive but very drinkable. Faint hops aroma, malty body with faint hops finish. Good not great. donrajin (233), Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 11, 2005 Pours dark red with a one-finger head. The appearance is this beer’s saving grace. Malts and hops are balanced well in the aroma--neither exist in any large proportion. There’s not much to the flavor, just a slight hop flavor at the end that sticks with you for a while. Watery. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 10, 2005 12oz bottle - Pours dark brown. Armoa is actually of hops and vague caramel malts. Flavor is more malty. Slightly chocolate and caramel. On the palate this is very watery and seems to lack body. It finishes bitter with hops which is odd for a brown ale. It is drinkable but nothing is really good about this one. CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 4, 2005 Could never get over the false bitterness to this "brown" ale. I’m not much of a fan of brown ales, but beers like Dogfish’s IBA have made me think that bitter and brown can go together (look at the Prohibition Ale too!). Moving on.. Everything that a standard ale should be is represented with this beer. Good malt with flavor of nuts, caramel and mild cocoa. a little bit more carbination than normal
Quite enjoyable for a day of relaxtion with friends ruggedman (626), Portland, Maine, USA
