I had this a couple of times. Not a bad beer. The taste and the aroma were nothing to brag about. But at least the taste had some sort of presense. There are many brown ales that are better then this. I cannot recommend this one.

overall an ok beer, it was less than i expected, "ruby-brown" color was as promised, slightly tangy, similar to a sierra nevada without the bite. an overall average brown ale

I guess I was looking for more than what I got. I was just not bowled over by this beer. I thought it was just an average brew.

Very enjoyable beer imo. Great looking, smelled pretty good. Was a little bitter but overall very refreshing. I’ll definately be trying to get this again in the future.

This beer is absolute crap. It is also a contract brew as there is no longer a brewery. This beer 10 years ago was awesome. Heavy duty Texas Brown Ale that was dried hop. This shit now tastes like Michelob Amber Bock. Complete shit.

Pours brown with copper and orange hues and a big creamy tan head. Aroma is mostly malt but hints of hops appear here and there throughout the bouquet. Flavor is best out of the bottle rather than from a glass. Slightly nutty malt flavor with mild hops and alcohol in the finish. Overall, this is a pretty decent quaffing beer and I really enjoyed the first four straight from the bottle. Once I took the time to look at it more closely though, it kind of just fell apart.

i like this a little better than newcastle but not much brown ales just don’t do it for me less sweet and nuttier than newcasttle plus it has more carbonation after drinking a couple of these i feel like i just ate too much candy

I had this a really long time ago, so I bought one to have a reminder. I was expecting something more "wicked", but all in all it’s not a bad ale. Hoppy malts start off exciting but the beer kind of runs flat as it goes down. It does have a better than average presentation. Decent.
