runaway (24), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 29, 2007 Twelve ounce bottle poured a clear, dark coppery red, with a thin, fine-grained head that dispersed into spiderweb lacing. Smells of sugar, malt, prunes, and alcohol; almost identical to Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale. Taste has hints of nuts, caramel, and hops, with a mildly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is distressingly light and uninteresting; I was expecting wicked flavor or carbonation or something ... anything! This beer is pleasant, but nothing really jumps out about it.
CaryTheDude (489), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2008 Watery shiot. Weak and has nothing to offer.
