Bottle, 33 cl. Saterday 02.08.’08 on terras @ l’Angen Gardien close to the Abbey.
Hazy amber-orange color, good off-white head. Aroma yeasty, fruity, hops.
Medium body.
Taste is very low differnce to the Orval from 6.2 %.
Nevertheless, this very easy to drink beer with only 3.5% ABV is marvellously complex. For me the best beer with only 3,5 % !
Borresteijn (509), Amstelveen, Netherlands Jul 21, 2008 Bottle @ Auberge de l’Ange Gardien, rated according to tasting notes from last year. Clear amber/orange colour, white head. Aroma of bread, yeast, some malts and some floral notes. Flavour is like it’s big brother, but with less body, a bit watery, and a bit more pronounced bitterness. fonefan (4333), Ulfborg, Denmark Jul 16, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lancing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate hoppy, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. After so long time looking for this beer i manage to get it and it was a bit of disappointment, because it was just a very watery - thinner version off big brother the normal orval not thing else ! (240508) KimJohansen (3171), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jun 18, 2008 Clear amber with medium white fluffy head. Brett aroma with fruity notes. Dry flavor with brett, fruits, hops and a bitter finish.
