Sour nose of old ale tartness. Tart taste without the fruit palate of darker old ales. Light on the tongue and very refreshing with hints of lemon and vanilla. Nice beer. nearbeer (1882), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Mostly clear, orange-gold with a three finger head that leaves some frosty lace. Aroma is tart fruit and slight malt vinegar. Flavor is reversed: malt vinegar bests the tart fruit (lemon-cherry), some earthy funk, and soggy wood. Light-medium body is smooth, watery and acidic-tingly-dry. wacho (51), Izegem, Belgium

Heeft de echte houtsmaak van de foeders, toch een iets zoetere afdronk. Het bier is gecommercieerd voor de Amerikaanse markt maar hier gewaardeerd door vele bierproevers Dedollewaitor (3773), Odense, Denmark

So very matured aroma - sour, sweet, vinous, barrel, oak, freshness. Good mouthfeel & great Sour ale. boFNjackson (1322), Portland, Oregon, USA

Aroma of floral apples and wine. Very flavorful drink with lots of tart fruit and sourness. Each sip became more enjoyable. Dark golden with nice but small creamy white head. Aroma is bretty, floral, nice bready malts, orange, and musty apple funk. Smells like a produce aisle in an early summer market. Flavor is bitingly tart. Nice acidity, quick brisk finish. This is a treat that I enjoy whenever I get the chance and, if available locally, I’d keep on hand at all times. Pours a golden color with initial 3 finger head that fades into a top layer. Really carbonated with great lacing. Nose is feet, funk, wood and lemons. Palate is citrusy tart with some cheesy funk and aspirin. Medium mouth feel. Alcohol is well hidden. It’s a decent sour. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA

This is a nice little underrated sour ale. Beautifully effervescent, sour cherry, old and woody tasting, deep and earth, with a well balanced sour component that is almost vinous. Enjoyable.
