Pours a clear medium gold colored body with a small very fine bubbled bright white head. Aided in retention by my Chimay goblet. Aroma is quite tart with a balancing sugary sweetness. Some oak and fruity notes as well. Flavor is quite tart and tannic up front and fades to a drying acetic finish. Some raw oak, light pale malts, and some leafy hops. Mouthfeel is fairly light and airy with a thinnish texture and alot of fizzy efforvescent carbonation. Overall, this was quite an odd beer. Not the beer that I remembered from a few years ago. It had an almost lambic like feel to it. leaparsons (4755), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Bright spot light yellow with a smoothly foamed top of white froth sitting about a finger high. Keeps an immense amount hanging around and the lace is in inky strings.
Aroma is fairly funky with a semi charming, paled down thwapp of soured grapeyness and oaky tangyness. Acidic funk to say the least.
Taste is a leveled sour tang of old lemon, oak, sour apple, grapefruit, and acidic yeastyness. Floating dryness of tarting parchness is interactive within a woody tone mixed with some white grape and grapefruit sourness. I like the finish more then anything as it tends to mellow off nicely. The front and the swallow is quite grabbing to the palate. It realy smacks it around some and lets you know you’re drinkin’ something.
Feel is active and full with alot of souring tartness. Drying and oaky with a long lasting effect of white grape and oak.
A bit slow to get through. A sipper of a sour Belgain Pale if there ever was one. Hold on to your taste buds with this one; it’s quite Lambic-like. fiulijn (7520), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Beautiful golden color; big bubbles are forming on the glass surface; nice lace. Aroma of barnyard; woody. Very dry mouthfeel, initially, getting quite astringent at the end; malt flavor and old hops, a good sourness and light fruitness (grapefruit); thin, but with some complexity derived from the wood. The final is somehow empty (and this turns me down), with a reminescence of old hops. Very similar to a gueuze. Better when colder. Bottle from Delirium Café, courtesy of Johan. Pours very light cloudy yellow with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is a dirtier version of the aroma. Palate is tart and mouth puckering sour. Very nice sour, but you better like it sour. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2006 Sour fruit - cherries and apples? - for aroma. A bit of yeast. Hazy golden color with a fine white head. Starts with apple, passes to generic sour, then to an oaky yeasty finish. Something like a sour gueze (some aren’t). Extremely dry, even astringent. Definitely puckers the mouth. Apple is ever present.
