This is simply one excellently crafted beer. Aroma is woody, tart and earthy. Appearance is a hazy bannana yellowish color. Mouthfeel is tart, yet still soft enough to be enjoyable. Flavors were very gueuze like but not so far over the top like a gueuze. Slightly fruity, malty, and woody. Yet it also has all the good things like brett, lacto etc to make the beer demand your attention. Really good! stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma is slight fermented fruit, oak, sweetness, and yeast. The flavor is super sour, sweet finish, fruit, and some oak. Not my style, but a good flemish sour. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Updated: Feb 29, 2008Pours a light pale gold, moslty clear and a vigorous fluffy white head- small and large bubbles mixed and great lace. Aroma is tart, slightly sour, woody, oak, herbal, earthy, and light brett funk. Nice light bready malts, herbal and spicy hops, oak, light vanilla, fruity, and a light bitter, yet tart and sour finish. The tartness was pretty mellow overall, but blended well with the woodiness. Pretty unique even in the sour ale world. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Wonderful funky aroma of sour grapes, apples, faint spices, yeast and lemons. Flavour is sour and citrusy with some yeast, oak and a slightly metallic tinge to it. Medium bodied. A little simple, it could be more complex but I still really liked it. GregClow (2499), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Wonderful funky & sour aroma, with notes of lemon, vinegar, yeast and barnyard. Crisp, refreshing body. Flavour is quite tart and acidic, lots of lemon and yeast, and a dry, dusty finish. Really unique stuff, I’m glad to have tried it. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Very funky fresh, sour, rotten eggs, yeast aroma - lovely. Dark yellow, small white head. Taste: disappointing. Very sour, very tinny, no balance. Lemony finish. One dimensional taste, and boring. No complexity. chriso (4851), London, Greater London, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Bottle at GBBF, August 2006. Day 1, bee #23. Straw colour. Farmyard aroma. Quite sour and very lemony. Rather lambic-like in overall demeanour. However, I detected some odd chemical petrol/acetone and odd candy/pear drop nuances that I did not find too appealing in the flavour. I also found rather compromised by an over-fizzy mouthfeel. Interesting but not as good as I expected. I suspect this particular bottle (or batch?) was not quite up to the mark.
