Poured into a Petrus tall goblet and the Aged Pale had the color of lemonade. Crisp aftertaste with plenty of sourness with flavors of chocolate, roast, bread and a little woodiness for good measure. I also caught the sour-apple flavor that other ratings were finding with this Sour Ale.

330ml brown bottle. Golden pour, big white foamy head. Lots of sticky lace. Aroma initially presents a sour note, deeper sniffing revels some woody notes. Flavour is dry malt, has a lemony sour tinge throughout, tangy, wood/oaky. Dry and tangy finish. Strong carbonation, medium body. Refreshing, very drinkable, solid sour ale. I wasn’t expecting much but this is definately the best offering from the Petrus range.

(Sample Date: 1/1/2009 Source:Mekong) Light oak and malt notes in the aroma. Mostly clear light golden brown with fine white head. Flavor is slightly sour with oak woodiness. Finish is quite dry, fizzy ,and lightly sour with a touch of woody astringency.

11.2oz bottle. Pours a deep dark slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head that forms a ring around the edge of my glass. This one has a lemony tart barnyard funky nose. Hint of oak and lactic acid. Taste is a bit sharp at first with vinegar notes that mellows into tart apple notes and oak. Nice sour.

Sharp, sour aroma. Flavour has a rich sourness. First some apple, cider like sharpness at first then becomes much more sour as the flavour develops.

2009-03-02. Crisp golden yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of light alcohol, biscuity pale malts, light musty notes, touch of fruit. Flavour is on the sour side, mild fruit, notes of tart green apple, pale malt base. Average palate is smooth and light on the tongue. Interesting. Refreshing. Not sure if it started out this sour but it is not unpleasant. Bottle from Bier Tempel, Brugges, with some age on it.

bottle thanks to mar.... Pours pale yellow, thinnish, fizzy head. Aroma of dried spice, cumin? sour apple. Flavor was nice sour/grape flavor, cidery, with wood finish. Mouthfeel is thinnish but smooth. Interesting beer.

Bottle: Almost clear, pale golden with a small, persistent off-white foamy layer; dry woody-vinous nose, lactic acid and green apples detectable; solid sour flavour - with a little sweetness, medium bodied; lingering sour finish with wood and green apples in the aftertaste. Fine, fine brew..........
