Bottle, 6.5%. Very slow gusher. Malty aroma, but a bit rough. Darks malts and brown sugar. Cloudy dark brown colour. Small light brown head. The flavour is quite sweet with some nice, mildly roasted notes. A little creamed coffee, some sweet dark bread, quite some brown sugar. CO2 finish. Reminds me of a hvidtøl for grownups.

Really only 150 ratings for this? Bottled shared by jarspag from the liquor store down Whistler Way which had the weakest selection of wintertime brews this side of the Mississippi. Looks like Duchesse in the glass, hazy burgundy. Aroma lacking any punch, with some malty and fruity undertones and an acetic finish. Depth is missing overall, I’d rather drink Alexander Keith’s IPA....wait...no I wouldn’t.

Pours a dark chestnut brown with thin beige head. Aroma is very strong consisting of oak and dark fruit. A bit more sour than I had expected. Oak flavor overides the dark fruit and smooth maltiness.

Bottle. Soda pop like pour with quickly dissipating fizzy carbonation. Aroma and flavor mostly dark fruits and caramel. Flavor fades quickly and the mouthfeel is thin and uninviting. A decent beer at best.

This reddish-brown ale poured with a decent beige head. The flavor is indeed subtle, as the brewer claims, with some fruity notes over a caramel malt base

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Dark brown colour, huge tan head. Nice aroma - some fruit, notes of malts, caramel and bakery, hints of spices. The flavour is malty sweet with plenty of caramel, also raisins (a certain fruitiness) and chocolate. Some hops in the finish. A good beer, but slightly too much on the sweet side.
