Bottle, pours a dark brown color with a tan head, nice malt notes. Starts off sweet with dark fruits and slight molasses notes, but finishes fairly dry, the body was a bit light than I imagined. Not a bad brew at all. Great lacing as well.

330ml bottle. Brown, tight cappuccino head, stays for ages. Aroma starts sweet, and brown maltiness, some fruits. Hints of smokeyness which develop into burnt rubber (but not in an unpleasant way). Mellow sweet burnt maltiness in the mouth, quite perfumed in some ways, and the burntness is getting bitter at the same time. Yet it’s all incredibly well balanced. Only weakness is that it’s very sweet, but I didn’t find that to actually be negative at all. No trace of alcohol, could be cranked up a bit to make it a bit more serious and wineous.

(Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Bottle. Amber color, big offwhite head. Malty, nutty aroma, roasted, vinous and some butterscotch notes. Malty, nutty, milky and vinous flavor, smotth and yet powerful. Great body, pleasant malty finish.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 22 Sep 2007) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, pale brown head. Fruity nose with red berries, dark fruit and hints of brown sugar. Malty, fairly sweet taste with dried fruit, raisins, prunes, brown sugar, caramel and a spicy, sweetish finish. A bit odd: citric notes give it a position somewhere between an oud bruin and a dubbel. Nice mixture.

Unusually for a double this beer has a sharp, citric aroma cometing strongly against the malt. Whilst the flavour has a background of roasted malts the predominant feeling is of sourness. This sweet and sour mismatch reminds me of sour sherbert.
