| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 23, 2007 11.3 ounce bottle from a mixed 6 pack purchased at BevMo in Stockton, CA. This has a nice roasted, sweet, pumpernickel, bready aroma. Light metallic hop aromas are present, too. Quite quaffable. This is an attractivemoderately hazy burgundy-mahogany body, with a nice, attractive, frothy light pecan colored head. Very very sweet, sugary, candy-like caramel/chocolatey start. Light roastiness in the middle. Also has some grapey-vinous flavors present in the middle as well. Very thin-too thin for a dubbel. This is remarkably drinkable and I can see this being a big turnoff for people who dont care for sweet beers. This one is sweet and thin, but its flavorful and drinkable. I dont know how to score this. yngwie (5080), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Bottled at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. A clear, deep brown beer with a beige, almost tan head. The nose is mostly cherry-like, with some sour notes as well. Not bad, just a bit shallow. It has a sweel, caramelized flavor with some cellar notes. Medium body and caramel finish. A refreshing beer, but it feels like it was made to please everyone. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2007 330ml bottle poured mahogany with a caramel-soda colored head; bubbles were small and fizzy. Malty, caramelly, and sweet. Tasted good but overall character was too much like a soda. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2007 Bottle. Roasted Malts, that’s about all I can say, other than how wonderful this beer is. Caramels, slight chocolate tones. Beer2000 (1857), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2007 330ml bottle. Slightly hazy deep mahogany body with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasty malt. Flavor is sweet, malt, lightly roast, raisin with just a little faint hint of the cellar character from Petrus oude bruin. Nice, but a bit “just malty” character.
