Wordeful fruity, malty aroma. Slightly hazy ruby brown color, with a finely bubbled beige head that just won’t stop. It laces. Starts with a plumy raisin flavor, that mellows out into a fruity sweetness, but a light sweetness. Caramelized? Perhaps, but I’d say more of a slightly simmered, al dente, fruit. Wonderful, in any event. It finishes nicely, and I would say there is some hop, but it is definitely sidelined. Great stuff.

Bottle. Deep red brown with a big yellow-brown head. Burnt caramel aroma, hints of bread. Very sweet, but with hints of fruit and nuts. Somewhat sirupy, feeling a bit heavy. On the sweet side, but with some complexity.

Brown and almost clear beer. Has a light-brown big head, medium lasting. Aroma has some burnt notes. FLavor is sweetish and sour, lactic?.

Draft at the Green Leafe Cafe, Williamsburg. Dark brown with a quickly dying head. Richly, richly malty, very much like a liquified caramelized sugar beer. Did I say strongly malty?

Bottled - Criterion Leicester. A hazy, dark brown coloured beer with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is malty with chocolate notes as well as some fruity berries. The taste is sweet. There is more chocoalte and some candy sugars. Quite a heavy moussey beer but still nice.

Dark brown colour, thick but small head with a brown colour. Aroma of dark bread, plums and vanilla. Really strong and fulfilling sugary taste with raisins, rum and plum. REally good!

Bottle. Dark brackish brown body with a sturdy mocha colored froth on the surface. Nose is chocolate notes, cocoa, dusty yeast notes, and dark fruit notes. Taste is dark fruits, soft alcohol, chocolate notes, caramel, and light yeast notes. Delicious! There a bit of tartness towards the back end of this. Light but dense carbonation. Light medium overall feel on the palate. Finishes with a thinner chocolate and cocoa flavor, softer alcohol, and dark fruits. Nice!

Pours a deep brown with Ruby highlights topped by a lacy minimalist head. Aroma is caramel, coffee and chocolate with a character that is not unlike Rochefort 8. The body is med with lite CO2. The flavors are medicinal, kahlua, sweet cherries and caramel. Some drying coffee-like bitterness in the finish. A very unique and enjoyable dubbel.
