This just didn’t hit me right. It might have actually been an old bottle; I should definitely try it again. The aroma was excellent and it poured a nice reddish brown with a rocky tan head. The flavor was sour (and not in a good way) and the palate was really like cola. Sour cola, hmmm....

Bottle. Pours a mahogany body with a tan head. Sweet malt, light fruity esters, light woodiness and brown sugar. Not bad.

Sweet caramel malt aroma. This is way too sweet for me, especially right up front. Has a bit of caramel, but it is just dominated by the sugar, making it tough to drink. Flavor is okay when I can get it down.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a creamy tan head that left good lace. Sweet aroma of fruits, caramel, and a slight musty and wood background. Nice fruit and malt mix in the flavor. Medium to full body and sweet throughout.

Good beer! Poured wth a nice, big tan head, no lace. Head mostly subsides. Color is a dark brownish amber. Aroma is yeasty, malty, a hint fruity, and sour. Flavor is about the same but also a hint of caramel. Interesting relationship between flavors. Body was a hair thin, but not bad. Decent carbonation. Satisfying. Session beer. Clean.

Brewed in Belgium !!! Pours a brown / burgundy color with a smalll foamy off-white head. Super sweet aroma, raisins, brown sugar, caramel, and plums. Taste is of dark fruits, figs, and malts. The mouthfeel is very spitzy at first and becomes sweet with a hint of dryness at the finish. Pretty interesting stuff.... :)

Another Petrus gusher. Pours deep burgundy with a marbled yellowy beige head. Pimples of yeast. Wincing sweet baby sick nose initially, giving way to complex malt-driven aromas of toffee, malt loaf, liquorice, choc coated raisin, walnut, locust bean (??). Powdered milk sweet, very lactic, liquoriced. Edging towards a 7. Mouth sweetish with chocolate, walnut, liquorice, hint of roast, peaty grain. Walnutty oak notes really making their presence felt. Czech black lager/ Schwarz like choc, grain, coniferous background hop. Liquorice, Carib bean waxiness and virtual choc. Unusual, complex, highly suppable dubbel.
