| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2008 I drank a pretty old bottle of this last weekend... three maybe four years old. It kept pretty well and in fact the sour flavors matured a bit in that time in comparison to some of the newer bottles I have drank. The aromas are fairly faint in this one a little bit of oak aroma with some definite yeastyness. Pours a lightly hazy brown color with an aggressive head, leaving plenty of lace. Flavor is nicely sour, paired with a lightly sweet maltyness that makes this a very easy "starter" beer for the sour style. Other flavors of yeast, and light cherry notes are also included. The palate is a little watery. durhambeer (1229), Durham, USA

Hints of black cherry yogurt. A little metallic; dunno... just didn’t knock my socks off. chimplechamp (465), Oslo, Norway

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2008 Huh; thought this was a better beer than is reflected on the ratings here. This beer had a pleasant sour-fruit flavor that didn’t strike me as vinegar-like, wasn’t over-powering, and I found to be very drinkable.
It poured a pleasant black-tea color into my goblet. Head was not especially plentiful, but remnants of it remained over the 40 minutes or so in which I consumed this beer. Aroma was oak-y, sour, and fruity, with some very light dark malt tones. Flavor offered some malt roastiness, a touch of vanilla, fruit, and of course significant sour-ness. Fruitiness seemed cherry-like, which is de rigueur for a sour ale, but also to offer some apple-ness that did not to my nose and palate seem chemical (ethyl hexanoate?) in nature. Mouthfeel was pretty clean.
I thought this to be a very nice and drinkable beer for those who dig the sour. I would recommend it. I bought his bottle at Beer Mania in Brussels. PilsnerPeter (2667), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 24, 2008 Bottle: Pours a ruby with a brown hue and a light tan head. The aroma is mildly funky and earthy with some lactic/yogurt-like notes, mild raspberry, musty basement and farmhouse. Light fluffy feel, with a less developed flavor. Seems like a subdued version of the aroma. Some raspberry, musty yeast and a very subtle yogurt-like tartness. A bit watery overall. Feels like a ’’mass-produced’’ beer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 28, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown with thin tan head. Sweetish caramel-malty nose with very faint tart-fruit edge. Fairly sweet beer, lightly bitter, again a very subtle vinous tartness. Lively carbonation, a bit dry in the finish. Pretty flabby stuff, not much oomph.
