Pours a dark, slightly oily cherry-cola color; light tan head with patchy retention and lacing. Mildly tart and overripe red fruits (strawberries, cherries), honey, apples, and cereal in the aroma; not a ton of tartness or depth, but reasonably clear nose. Relaxed carbonation. Medium mouthfeel: slight acidity, very mildly tart (cherries, watery strawberries); some oak toastiness and honey are present as well, but this is definitely lacking some depth, and any initial tartness and citric jolt at the front soon dissipates after the first few sips; pleasant, just not an exceptional example, and a very pronounced cereal note that isn’t quite what I’m looking for in a sour ale. Medium finish: lots of candy sugar, honey, and some red fruit maltiness. skoisirius (574), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Bottle, has a very coarse bubbled head- smells like oaken root beer, wildflowers- some metallic smells like cupric oxide, inner tubes- taste is far sweeter than other bruins, acidity is sadly only a backdrop to some very tutti-frutti type stuff- body is somewhat malty bordering on watery, a bit of a disappointment but drinkable- IlanMan (817), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Pour was brown with a fine light tan head. Aroma was lightly bitter with sweet malt, caramel, and a hint of sourness. The sourness came out a little more in the flavor but was still balanced real well. Beer itself was real smooth. Good brew. Would buy again. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Fruity, skunky sour smell. Dark red-brown with a fluffy off-white head which leaves great lacing. Taste is very mild...I mean very. Not bitter or even very fruity. Some malt and very slight raisin/fig flavour. Easy to drink, but could be more complex and interesting. kiefdog (1604), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark brown to black with a one finger tan head that recedes quickly but still laces the glass. Smells sweet and sour with notes of vinegar, ripe dark fruit, and yeasty bread. Taste is sweet malt, vinegar, oak, and bread with hints of sour cherry and vanilla. Interesting sour ale.
