bottle poured a dark deep brown in color with an initial two finger head that became a thick layer of tan foam on the beer. aroma is sweet, malt, raisin, apple, sweet fruit, and has very little in the way of wood. taste is light in the mouth feel, has some must, citrus, predominant sourness that just is not what i would have expected, has this strange twang on the tongue, good carbination, but on the thin side. this is my first sour ale and i just don’t really get this. warmed up to it after my tasters got accustomed but still not sure i really like it either.

Pour is a dark red with a large tan head. Aroma is small but sugary with notes of cherries. Flavor is not as sour as some others so some other profiles comes out. Some vinegar with caramel malts a some oily hops. Ok but nothing great but good enough to try at least once.

Bottle. Healthy-looking deep brown. Unusual aroma is difficult to break down, with hints of chocolate, lemon and steel layered over a sour malt body. Tight, fizzy palate could use more malt to flesh things out. Sour chocolate flavour is nuanced by a herbaceous/celery element. Slight bitter finish. Different and worth trying again.

This is dark red brown with a big, light brown, head that slowly dissipates to a thin, hazy top and leaves no real lacing. The aroma is sweet, pungent, with notes of molasses, earth, and fruit. The taste is sweet but sour, tangy, with earthy molasses elements, yeast, red wine, and fruit, almost like grape soda mixed with beer. It has a sweetish, slightly grainy finish. It’s ok, but not my style and I don’t really like it.

Dark brown mahogony pour with minimal head. Very nice sour cherry aroma. Flavor is on par with the best sour ales except it is extremely subdued and mild compared to those examples. Cabonation is pretty nice but the body is vacant leaving one wanting. This is an everyday sour ale. Very tame but still has more refinement than most other beers. 8.4.7.4.16

Tap at Hamilton’s in San Diego. Very easy drinking, very Flemish. Notes of cinnamon, tart apple, funky grape.

33cl bottle courtesy of Jetzler: poured reddish brown with a fizzy tan head. The head dissipates quickly. Mild sour aroma of cherries with a slight bit of oak. Flavor is mildly sour from cherries, just a hint of wood, and yeast. Moderately dry. Mild bitter cherry pit finish. Good.

Nice beer, poured a redish brown with soft white head slight iron on the palate and on the nose flavour is slightly reminiscient of black doris plum seeds mixed with a sourish note. Very dry on the finish.
