Pours deep brown into a snifter. Significant molasses-colored micro head very slowly recedes leaving sheet lacing. Sour cherry and vinegar aromas. Fairly bland with flat sour flavor. I was expecting more from the aroma.

Drank in a sniffer. Sticky small brownish head with a nice dark brown poor. Aromas of green apples, pears and balsamic vinegar... You can feel the aromas of the oak aging. Flavors of raspberries, sour apples, a little bit dissapointing. Missing to the palate as well. Slight aftertaste of caramel.

In the bottle at the HyVee Oktoberfest beer tasting in Council Bluffs. Pours brown with a dark tan head. Strong fruity aroma of dates, raisins and plums. Begins tart, but a balanced sweetness emerges. Has a quick finish, but is a bit chalky at the end.

Bottle - 250ml. Dark brown body with low carbonation and a thin beige bubbly head. Strong malty/hoppy aroma with sour fruits, oaky and cinnamon hints. Taste is pretty much thinner than expected and lacks the complexity of the aroma. It leaves a fair but rather short sour finish. Not a great Flemish Sour Ale.

Beautiful, deep amber color, with a head that disappeared almost immediately. Slightly sour aroma; reminds me of weak apple cider. Mild malt flavor, and one can certainly tell it was aged in oak barrels. Light palate, and good carbonation. Quite refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a clear tawny with a small fizzy off-white head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma is average malt (bread, caramel), average hops (herbs, grass), light yeast (earth) with cask notes. Short duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness, minerals. Light bodied, mineral mouthfeel and lively carbonation. This was a somewhat disappointing Flemish Sour in that it was quite bland, both in flavor and aroma.

Pours very dark bronze with a deep garnet hue and large tan head. The aroma is fairly sour with red grapes and a touch of oak. Medium / light body with a lot of sharp carbonation that doesn’t interfer with the flavors. Taste starts sharp and sour, but offset by a solid malt. There seems to be a hint of brett spiciness. The finish is quite spicy with the sourness still intact. Very nice beer and quite easy drinking for a flemish sour. Refreshing.

This is yet again another style that is just not for me. I don’t know if the bottle I bought was ancient but I found this way to dry and almost tasteless. I poured it down the drain after a couple sips. I may re-rate this in time.....probably not though.
