Feb 4, 2006 Pours deep burgundy with a thin tan head. Aroma of funky brett, cherries, leather, and barnyard fruitiness. Taste is cherry, plum, nutty toasted malts, and oak. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft carbonation. Finish is pleasantly acidic with a restrained sourness. I wasn’t sure I’d ever like a sour beer. This brew is delicious, and has changed my mind.

Jan 17, 2006 Bouteille de 250 ml, provenant d’un coffret cadeau "Petrus", achetée à la LCBO d’Ottawa, ONT. Arôme: Odeur de raisins, de cerises et de bois. Apparence: Couleur brune bourgogne avec une moyenne densité de bulle. Présence d’un large col beige crémeux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Gôut de raisins avec une bonne amertume. La durée de l’arrière goût est moyenne. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture vineuse. L’effervescence en bouche est moyenne. Sensation de fumée en arrière goût. (Rating #416)

Jan 16, 2006 Bottle. Pours crystalline mahogany with thin beige head. The aroma has a ton of oak, much like weak whisky, is a bit sour, and has a bit of grassy hops. The flavor is largely molasses and oak, with just a little bit of a vegetal note. It’s pretty sour, but not overwhelmingly so. Could be more graceful, but not bad.

Jan 4, 2006 Last of my gift pack. Man 20 bucks for six good beers. Musty sour aroma. Dark red body witha head that disipated faily quick. Flavor is sour with a cherry flavor as well. Medium sour palate. Decent beer.

Dec 29, 2005 Bottle.. ...Dk Brown, cloudy. Not much of a head.. ...Sour predominating, with sweet malty notes. Hints of Fruits (cherry, raspberry?).. ...Sour with malty hints. Has a funky mustiness in the finish.. ...Med body. Moderate carbonation.. ..Interesting flavor. Sour, but not overdone. Flavor is a bit thin.

Dec 18, 2005 Bottle. Poured a clear, medium ruby with a rather short-lived beige head. I really enjoyed the aroma coming out of this... sour cherries, vinous notes, oak, and a little metal. Flavor didn’t have as much appeal... the same components were in there as the aroma, but flavors were rather muddled, most of the sourness seemed metallic, and it could’ve used a bit more carbonation. Finish was somewhat sticky with oak and sour berries. Decent for the style... but not any more.
