Aromas are woody and malty with berries and palma violet sweets and of course some sourness. More sourness comes through in the flavour. Cherries and berries are the fruit present along with some mustiness and more floral hops lingering. The finish is sour and fruity. Very good. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Some vague sourness and tartness, but really not much of that or anything else. Brown color with a lazy thin head. Watery with a mild sourness. but there is something in the background a kind of bready and sweet flavor that is compelling. Not overly impressed all in all. pivnizub (5106), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2005 Medium reddish brown, hazy. Thin halo of foam leaves slight lace that slumps back into the beer. Fruity nose- cranberry, cherry, fig- plus burnt wood, maple, and talcum powder. Some cellar mustiness asserts itself after a few minutes. Flavor is tart and fruity, blueberries and blackberries, pumpkin pie spice, caramel, and hints of dark breadcrust and black jellybeans. There’s something else... toasted sesame seeds is the closest I can describe it. Although not watery, the mouthfeel is light, and faintly tannic. Pleasant tart aftertaste is a combination of lemon peel, grapeskin, and nectarine. jefcon (1009), Arlington, Virginia, USA
