The body is a very dark brown with some ruby highlights. The head on my initial pour is huge. The aroma is sour apples and cherries. There is also some oak. The taste is slightly sour cherries with some dark bread. There is also a little bit of Sprite. A decent beer, but this lacks character. I really like the style, but I want more taste and body. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2005 (Bottle 25 cl) Clear, brown with a reddish hue. Not really sweet, not really sour. More dry with a slight hint of hops in the finish. Light in body and very pleasant and quenching. Spends 20 months in oak vats - that’s a long time indeed. Perhaps one could expect more flavours from that long period of maturing? 070795 joeec5 (204), bayonne, New Jersey, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 9, 2005 Pours a dark ruby red with a small head but very lacy. Smells very very fruity. Sour apple with an underlying sweetness. A bit of malt.
Taste is appley and yeasty but a bit watery. Better as it warms. Gets more sour and a bit maltier. Still tastes a bit like watered down Goudenband. Quite thin body and not much aftertaste.
This is OK but could be a bit more flavorful.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2005 250ml. bottle, best before 6/09/06. Clear brown color with a good sized tan head. I love Flemish Sour Ales, and this one reminds me of a "lite" version. All the right characteristics are there, they are all just muted. Still very drinkable. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA
