Bottle, Criterion, Leicester Crawl Jan 2005. Amber chestnut, good beige head and moderate condition. Pleasant tinny caramel and funky farmyard notes in the nose, sweet caramel in the mouth and more funky lambic type notes in the finish.

I love the Flemish browns. Very refreshing style. Lactic and sour nose with good hints of spice and malt. Nice persistent head with good gas release . Hosrse blanket and citrus acidity.

this is yet another uncharted adventure into the "sour" world.poured a dark red/brown with a nice creamy head.as the head sat down i was met with some nice lacing.nice balanced aroma of brown sugar, malts, and the sour funk.the taste was also very balanced with a mix of fruits, spice, pepper, brown sugar, and candy.this is a very nice change from some of the "sour beers" i have had.im going to get some more of this when i can.

Very different from any beer I’ve ever had. Sour brown ale. Brown bour with a light tan head that laced very well. Underwhelming aroma that’s sour and spicy. Sour flavor with a finish that left my mouth dried out. Very reminiscient of the Devil’s Horn without the raspberry finish.

Dark brown/ruby pour. Small, light tan head bubbled and hissed like a soda then settled quickly. Sour dried fruit aroma. Medium body, well balanced. Sweet and sour at the same time with subtleties of oak. Dry finish, sour aftertaste. Intriguing, must drink more.

Bottle, undated purchased out of a cooler from Hop and Leaf, Knoxville, TN Feb 2005. Good ruddy strawberry-amber pour, with some darker orange-caramel shades and a moderate amount of off-white head. Aroma of sweet toffee, lightly tart yeast and brett, with pleasantly balanced hints of oak and some sweet butter-cream. Flavor begins on a wonderful tart yeast note, with oak and malt well integrated. Unfortunately, the beer dies off quickly after the initial flavor, getting horribly thin, very watery and losing any tartness. Finishes with some sticky caramel mixed with water, lightly sweet oak and sugar. Arg, why does it just die off?? Watery mouthfeel, low to moderate carbonation.

25 cl cool, from a Petrus glass. Extremely nice and not extremely demanding flemish sour ale - one you could actually serve to the uninitiated without provoking "what is this stuff"- type pangyrics. Lighter mouthfeel and body than Rodenbach Grand Cru, hard to even compare them I feel. The only reason I used to buy those mixed gift packs too. A screaming bargain now at the LCBO in Ontario for $2 a single bottle.

Bottle at the Swan and Rushes, Leicester (during RB Leicester crawl). Nice sour satchel smell. Soft, smooth, sweet, fairly full of flavour, and a nice sour mash taste. Very good actually. Dark tobacco colour, with a small fluffy head.
