Some band aid and leather on the nose. Restrained sour notes, muted sweet notes, I really get behind this to show people how different sours can be without overwhelming them away from the style. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours a nice ruby-brown with a quickly thinning tan head. Aroma is tart fruit, mainly cherry and apple. Flavor is tart fruits (mainly cherry) mixed with some brown-sugary malt. A bit sweet for a sour ale, but also quite acidic, which cuts that nicely. Surprisingly refreshing on the whole. HighWine (165), , California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Dark brown pour with tan head that thins over a few minutes. Color is like cherry wood. Fruit nose, sour cherries and green apples. I didn’t like the taste of this beer several years ago when I first tried it. Since then I have come to enjoy sour ales and this was a nice reunion for me. Mildy sour with sweet malt flavors and a palate that fades into a bread-like yeast. By no means my favorite, but I’m glad I returned for a second chance. arrogantb (707), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 18, 2009 11.2 oz bottle with no date, nice dark brown with no head and no carbonation. Aromas of glue on leather and cinnamon. The taste is not nearly as sour as I expected. This tasted like a brown ale with the slightest bit of tartness. Interesting overall.

Pours a golden brown with an off white head. Aromas are dark malts, hints of sourness like apples, and some caramels. Flavor is crisp, clean, and sweet. The finish is a little sour, but not too sour as to be unpleasant.
