| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 5, 2004 Pours a clear light amber color with a thick white head that leaves a fair lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, yeast and fruits . The flavor seems more complex than the aroma, it’s mostly fruity, spicy, yeasty and sweet with mild hops. Medium body, creamy texture. I’m quite surprised by this one, it’s much better than what I expected. caledonian (367), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 8, 2004 ouch! this one has a sharp stringent taste to it. Spruce and sour lemon is prominent... not that I am comparing it to some sort of household cleaner, but... i’m just saying. Surprisingly fresh aroma though. Some hops, but more malts. Aroma is filled with aromatic malts ... I imagine that the hops are gone even if they were ever there. Pours a fairly dirty yellow. Nice malt tones with lots of Belgian yeast, a little acidic and yeasty, some nice sugary tones. Not a great beer, but I am trying a very early model that has aged too long. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2004 Fruity, spicy, herbal and sweet aroma, some cookieish maltiness amidst notes of pear and melon, also some cellar must and faint woodiness. Medium orange-amber color, seemingly faintly luminiscent with a lasting, frothy head and dense lacing. Flavor is lightly tart and fruity, some apricot detected, the toasty and sweet maltiness becoming more apparent before the hoppy, spicy, floral and semi-dry finish. Mouthfeel has a light-moderate amount of acidity and a rather high level of carbonation. Medium body. I must say I wish I had another bottle.
