| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2008 A light somewhat soapy aroma. The flavor on this is of an amber ale with a a very light airiness. Not as spicy as most Belgians, this is just okay. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 19, 2008 Pours a clear copper to orange with a relatively healthy white head, diminishing to a dense thin head. The nose is metallic with a strong fruity bent and some toasty astringency. A little earthy, slightly reminding me of feet. Average to slightly creamy body with low viscosity. The flavor is in line with the nose. Rather metallic, an almost nutty sweetness over some toast and light astringency. Fruity, a bit of cinnamon maybe? Rather astringent with strong metal in the finish. I like htis less the more I drink... but this is interesting still I guess. DuffMan (2774), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2008 It is interesting to read the ratings for this brew. Highly varied to say the least and not just with overall quality but with the actual nuances that each individual perceives. I very much liked it and found it quite easy to characterize on the palate. It pours a hazy light amber with a modest off-white head. Initially aroma was predominantly of bread dough but as the head calmed down and the temperature mellowed a striking aroma of burnt sugar came forward very much like the topping of a creme brulee. The flavour was highly malt driven with sweet toffee taking center stage. Nice subtle fruity tones lifted things in the finish. Medium-bodied with an earthy mild bitterness in the end. I actually really enjoyed this. blutt59 (2172), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2008 Bottled sample via trade. Dark gold in colour, mith moderate (yet spritzy) carbonation. Aromas are of stale malts, sour fruit, and damp earth. Flavors are of both stewed and sour fruits, light caramel, chalk, and black pepper. Very light bodied... as if it’s hardly even there. Overall, it’s average at best. wyzzywyz22 (799), Wirral, Merseyside, England
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 21, 2008 Bottle, Belgian Belly, Chorlton. This was pretty forgettable fayre. Poured a murky brown with a dissipating medium foamy head. Slightly watery palate with no real depth. Vague grassy hoppiness but mot much else going down. Dryish finish. Slight metallic tang detectable.
Bit disappointing on the whole.
