Semi-clear yellow with a white bubbly head. Smell is sweet and tart. Flavor is sweet and roasted with a big watery base. Overall, this was just average for me - nothing to complex or interesting about it. talon1117 (631), Bellvue, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2008 Pours a hazy, copper, golden color with a full, brilliant white, pillowy, fluffy head; it settles to a fairly small, creamy, foamy bit and leaves small amounts of lace. Nose is citrusy out of the bottle with lemon and mandarin ornage; other more subtle notes include banana esters, lots of doughy yeast, light candi sugar, faint herb notes, and a touch of honey. Flavor is sweet and less complex than the nose; lots of candi sugar and some honey, doughy yeast, light white pepper notes, and corriander. Palate is nice with a creamy texture, a medium to mudium-full body, and a lively carbonation. Finishes fairly long with a mild bitterness (for a tripel), a touch of dryness, lingering yeasty notes, and some faint citrus and herb notes (thyme?). A fairly standard example of a tripel but nothing to make it unique. Too much citrus in the nose for me, and too much sweet notes in the flavor for me. Not bad by any means but far less superior than other Belgium brewers. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Pours a hazy gold with a large creamy white head. Smells of light citrus, sugar, some cloves, some basic spicy hints. Tastes citrussy and sweet with lots of spice and some touches of honey. Decent. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 25, 2008 Poured from 750ml bottle a cloudy gold with a large creamy white head that dwindled slowly leaving minimal lacing. The nose is of citrus, spice, sour bubblegum, light toast and a slight yeasty earthiness. The flavor checks in with a good carbonation tang, spice (like white pepper and salt), sweet’n’sour orange citrus, lightly sweet caramel malt and honey, a small amount of toast and some bubblegum and yeasty notes. The palate is creamy on the tongue, alcohol warmth on finish with some lingering yeasty bitterness. At first, when this beer was cooler I thought it was rather one dimensional, just splash all the flavor at once, but as it warms it becomes more complex. Great beer with gruyere cheese I discovered. armando629 (1016), Budapest, Hungary
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Cloudy golden body under a delisicious head. Aroma of spicey vanilla and yeast, some citrus, really exciting. Sweet malt and citrus taste with a bit of spices(nutmeg?) and hop. Nice tripel image, fine aftertaste AmEricanbrew (2000), Almost, Texas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2008 Clear dark straw color with a rocky head. Nice spicy hop yeasty tripel aroma with pale malts and a light sweetness. Medium body and smooth. Decent taste is classic tripel spices, yeast, grainy with a drying black pepper flavor in the finish. 1.14.2007
