Slight green apple and honey in the finish with a lingering wheat, but a very creamy mouthfeel. The carbonation is a fantastic light small bubble that just explodes in the mouth. Nice beer. Smell is very malty and it has a very flowery nose. Taste is about like it smells, very refreshing and enjoyable. It has a very malty taste to it and leaves a good sour taste on the palate. Feels great on the palate and it’s aftertaste is good. I would definetly drink more of this later. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2007 bottle labeled gouden tripel ale pours a somewhat hazy golden in color with a huge exploding head that slowly faded but remained a thick coating creamy tan in color. aroma is yeast, spice, floral, sweet malt, citrus peel, and wheat. mouth feel is medium light, somewhat thin, has a nice yeast spice quality, rolls over the tongue very silky. sips well, some acidic bite, citrus peel gives some twang, sweet malt carries it well, and finishes on the dry side with good spice. a brew that represents Belgian brewing very well has all the character a triple should have. hop notes became more apparent to me in the finish as it was consumed and warmed a bit. very clean brew and easy to drink for a 7.5%. Fruity, sweet belgian aroma. Flavors of fruit, citrus, yeast, spice & orange peel. Not as sweet as it smells, a little dry actually. Maybe a slight grapelike feel. Long, dry, spicy finish.
