Lagery gold with a steady bead and rocky white head. Lacy smooth maltiness. Sweet but a little boring. A distant tang of metal. Silky mouthfeel. But essentially just a really dangerous lager. (Re-rate, 08/03/08. Previously 5/3/5/3/11) 750ml bottle. Pale, spritzy and faintly misty. Vinous w/w aroma suggesting grape, melon and yeasty fruit. A splash of Malheur. Wood and acid. Almost lambic tang, frut acids (apple, grape), but discreet and softened by sweet buttery vanilla cornflake afters like Rodenbach Vin De Cereale. Interesting.

Pour is hazey golden yellow with a big tight bubbled off white head...smell is a little citrus, fresh bread, and cloves...taste is very sweet at first with a lively mouthfeel...yeast and light spices contribute to a slightly vegetal finish, but still quite good...enjoyable...

Bottled. Golden colour, with lively carbonation, sparkling big creamy off-white head, which takes ages to settle. Aroma is rubbery, malty and hoppy. Very boring. Flavour is malts and hops with some weak caramellish notes as well as weak honey. Sticky palate, and the carbonation tickles the tongue and throat in a nice way.

330 ml bottle from Stateline Liquors in Elkton, MD (April 2006), undated, served at cellar temperature in a La Chouffe tulip. An enormous, pillowy/rocky snow-white head pours forth from the small bottle, topping a very cloudy light gold body, lasting indefinitely and forming thick lacing....honey-sweet, lightly yeasty/bready aroma with hints of nutmeg and orangepeel.....body is somewhat alcoholic/medicinal, moderately sweet, with touches of orange zest and honey, light dry/bitter herbs.....syrupy, thick mouthfeel, somewhat low carbonation, and increasing alcohol harshness towards the end. My review is looking pretty bad, but overall I find this reasonably drinkable and kinda tasty; it’s just that the individual parts aren’t that great, but the overall effect is....all right.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light gold body under a foamy and fizzy white head. Aroma is of light pale malts, citrusy lemony hops, and bread dough. Flavor is fairly light maltiness with a smack of lemon in the finish. Mouthfeel is very light bodied with a seltzer like spritzy carbonation that foams up in the mouth. An OK beer in and of itself, but pretty light in all departments. It was a shock when I entered this rating to see it listed as a Abbey Triple. This in no way resembles a triple: no yeast, no fruity ester nose, thin, not complex at all. This must be the extreme end of the spectrum away from Westmalle Triple. Maybe better classified as a Belgian Ale.

Huge white rocky head with good lacing. Aroma is mostly floral with a bit of yeast and that Petrus funkiness (probably from the yeast). Good body for a triple. Flavour is lightly bitter with some sweetness.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malts, belgian style spices, and yeast. Flavor is smooth, sweet, spicey, yeasty, slight bitterness, and a little metallic finish. .

Not bad as far as tripels go. Hazy orange with an ample white frothy head. Tons of bubbles rising in the glass. Lots of spice and herbs, yeast, citrus. Medium bodied and sparkly in the mouth. The flavor started sweet and went to a more spicy, bitter taste.
