| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 22, 2005 This beer was delicious. Hazy gold pour with 2 to 3-finger, foamy white head. Nice aroma of spicy floral citric notes, along with some tart fruit and barnyard essences. The mouthfeel was bold and complex, with tastes of floral dry citrus, hops, and acrid malts. Nice balance and complexity. This one is a great trippel. pintbypint (1021), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 18, 2005 250ml brown bottle. Poured golden, huge head with a dense centre and soapy edges. Aroma is sweet and floral, lemon notes, pears and trace alcohol. Fruity in the mouth, slight spice, alcohol is there but not overwhelming. Finishes with a good hoppy bite. Prickly carbonation, a tad too much, otherwise pleasant. wunderbier (1271), Tampere, Finland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2005 33 cL bottle, snifter. Gigantic, rocky, frothy white head with nice Brussels lacing. Hazy peach-gold hue with light carbonation. Huge initial rush of roses, orchids, mint and rosemary. Firm backing of hay and light bread malts. Dough and cookie yeast is moderate but pleasing. Lots of aples, yellow cherries, pears and plums. Very tart and pleasing aroma. Moderate sweetness upfront is quickly overtaken by a (too?) sharp and tart acidity. Acidity is a touch sour in the finish and surrounded by a light sweetness and a very floral bitterness. Nice peppery spiciness in the finish as well. Medium-full bodied with a velvety texture and lively carbonation. Sometimes, everything just comes together. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 11, 2005 Bottle (250ml). Poured clear yellow with a huge white foamy lasting head. Aroma of std belgian witbier - lemony banana with spices, bit alcohol-harsh. Taste is like more lemony aroma, mild, touch of grain. Mouth is a bit acidic, slightly light body. Okay - many better. Peppery hop aroma with honey and spice. Medium bodied with candy sugar sweetness. Sweetish finish with a hint of the metallic taste I got in the Speciale. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 2, 2005 Lightest yellow triple I have ever seen. Big bubbly white head. Some alcohol in mild aroma. Taste is better than aroma or appearance. Sweet honey and alcohol. Medium mouthfeel. Not complex at all, jus sweet and strong. Better than the last Petrus I had, but this is an average Triple at best.
