Good thick maltiness to the texture with a very dry end. Spicy aroma with a bit of citrus and apple. This brew is very lively on the palate with a good carbonation enhancing the spice and fruit tastes, good maltiness really makes this brew very good. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada

Sweet spicy smells to it...not as much citrus as tart pears or apricots. Starts very tart and zesty like a pilsner but hen the nicely layered malt body is revealed to the tongue....finishes dry....very much like Duvel....is it a clone? No it has it’s own distinct taste. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 19, 2004 330ml bottle. A slightly hazy yellow ale that pours with a large, white, lasting head that leaves excellent lacing. Aroma of lemon zest and yeast. Light-to-medium body with a textured, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet, pear-like fruitiness up front, with a sharper, grainier flavour in the middle, and a yeasty, hoppy finish. Becomes less pleasant as the beer warms to reveal some of the cruder flavours. Satisfactory, but nothing special. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 13, 2004 Peachy, golden, ginger ale colored body with cloudiness and sediment. Nicely thick, cottony white head. Smells of concord grapes, alcohol, chardonnay and apples. Sweet and light taste, honey, apples, sugars, white grapes and slight tangy/lemon finish. Delicious. This is a terrific, tasty beer but its very close to a chardonnay champagne. haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2004 massive head. Aroma is somewhat skunked (bad bottle?), with some hints of fruit and hops. Great appearance, huge duvel head with gold color. Taste is quite awesome to sayt the least, fruity, malty, yeasty and quite hoppy! a fiesta in a bottle, downdall is that its quite straight forward and maybe over carbonated, but a good balance. Peppery mouthfeel. Green hop bitter. Woody. Bread crust chewy malts. Peach and chalk in the finish. Tastey but not complex. Certainly not overpowering for a tripel. hopdog (5601), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
