beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 1, 2009 Pours a cloudy brown color with a thick, frothy beige head. Decent aroma of yeast, leather and spices. Decent flavor of leather, spices and yeast with a mild astringent feeling. Not bad by all means, but definitely forgettable. Rynoplasty (500), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 26, 2009 Pours hazy amber with a smallish cream colored head. Aroma is fruity and estery with hints of spices. Flavor is a little bit of dark fruits and caramel, with some yeastiness and lots of carbonation. JK (2943), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Mar 4, 2009 This wasn’t very good at all, especially for the $17 price. Very dry. Some earth and light malt. Just a little Belgian candi sugar. A little thin. From the style and the price, I was expecting a thick, full flavored Belgian ale or abbey style beer. Skyview (3931), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Mar 3, 2009 Sampled during Cellar’s final beer tasting in St Paul, MN. From a 750 ml bottle pours a semi-hazy copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some cinnamon, roasted nuts, raisin and some art cherry. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of toasted dark malt, raisins, a hint of apple and some tart brown sugar. Finish is slightly metallic with aftertaste if caramel malt, raisin and some yeast. It’s okay Belgian ale for the second last beer to run out at Cellars final tasting.
RSRIZZO (1332), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Feb 23, 2009 Color is a burnt orange with very active carbonation and a tall off white head. Aroma is a fruity sweet yeast scent. Taste is fruity and tart. Starting with a medium body it goes down fizzy with a creamy feel. Finish comes on with a tart apple taste followed by nice Belgian yeast notes. In the after taste the tart turns just a touch bitter and leaves you with an almost wine like taste. This is a great brew, a little light for a Winter brew but it is a tasty Belgian. michael-pollack (2598), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 12, 2009 750ml Bottle: Aroma of yeast, spices, alcohol, and some apples. Poured amber in color with a large, dense, light tan head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Very sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly astringent. Tastes of yeast, malts, grapes, slight grains, light caramel, and light spices. Medium body. Fizzy, slightly dry texture. Lively carbonation. joeyplush (328), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 8, 2009 2007 Petrus winter ale draft at Belgian Cafe Philly

RedSox2004 (353), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Jan 30, 2009 Slightly hazy reddish brown with a generous two-finger head, full retention and good lacing. Aromas of lemons and apples, just a bit sour, with sugar cookies and yeast. Bready malt flavors up front, with a touch of sourness, followed by honey and spices. Medium body, lively carbonation, and a lingering sourness that is rather unpleasant. Ok, but Belgium does much better.
