The aroma is malty but fairly thin and non-descript. The taste is malty with hints of fruit. Highly carbonated and a bit boring. No Wintery connection either. SHIG (2037), Aviano, Italy

Beautiful hazy dark amber colour with an average long lasting head. Aroma of caramel, slightly toasted malts and plenty of fruity hops. Flavour is little bit bitter with a nice sweetness, caramel, alc. and malts along a nice round touch of hops. A little chocolaty touch in the aftertaste. A very pleasant brew indeed! Better than the normal petrus. Medium bodied. Little sweet caramel taste, but good. GG (1660), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 13, 2007 NorCal tasting Apr 07 - I think I’ve hit the low spot for Petrus. While normally I find their beers above average, this is just okay. A weak of aroma of metallic malts and yeast and good bit of iced tea thrown in. Flavors were malt astringent, with caramel and toffee smoothing things out to make it drinkable, but nothing near what it could be.
