Mild aroma of roasted malt and dried fruit. Fruity, slightly sugary flavor with also dried fruit. Medium-bodied, a bit foamy-carbonated palate. A quite nice and balanced brew. Re a fairly boring offering. Not bad but comes and goes. Mahogany with foamy head resucing to a film. Toffeeish aroma and a bit malyty up front turning quite bready at the end. The mouthfeel is nowhere near as big as the petrus pale ale but a bit of the tart sourness comes through. balesjas (41), Huntington Woods, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2006 Not as full of a mouthfeel as other Belgians. I can definitely taste the alcohol, raisins, and a lot of carbonation. Poured with a big head -- the bottle overflowed when I opened it! Odeed (1675), Bakersfield, California, USA

Must be endorsed by the big jolly old fat man. Very large sloppy head. Off-white in color. Good carbonation. Murky dark brownish orange in color. Sweet and fruity aroma with raisins and a little bit of spice. Crisp and lively inthe mouth. Not as sweet or syrupy as expected. Little dry and spicey. Pretty good but a little bland. Some pasty malts and yeast. Finish is clean and dry with some lingering spices. Decent. Nekronos (2265), Xalapa, Mexico

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Sampled at a 2005 Christmas and Winter beer tasting at Delilah’s, Chicago, IL. 2005 vintage. Clear amber ale having a small diminishing off-white head. No discernable carbonation. Light sweet malt aroma. Medium bodied that starts with light sweet malt and toffee. Middles out with a surprising sourness. Finishes on a sour note. Too sour tasting, this beer is not very drinkable. joergen (8610), Frederiksberg, Denmark
