bottle from Kingdom Liquors - spicy orange and other citrus, somewhat malty but rather lacking flavor - expected more

11.2 oz bottle from Knightly Spirits (Orlando, FL)-Pours a hazy orangish amber with a nice tight off white head. Aroma of sourness, malt, and caramel. Taste of the same with a bit of spices and fruit. This medium bodied brew is a bit thin for a Winter. Was expecting a lot more flavor and body. Very basic.

Bottle.
Pours a nice amber that rests below an off-white head. Aroma is spicy raisin/grape with a touch of red wine. Flavor is malty spice with touches of sugar, oaked red wine, and melon. Average mouthfeel. Very approachable.

Dangerous cork missile resulted in lots of overflowing foam from the bottle. Spicy orange brown color with a pillowy cream colored head. Doesn’t lacy, pulls down at the sides leaving a billowy mountain in the middle. Spicy winteriness, lots of bubbling carbonation. Orange and citrus also present. A nice maltiness with strong spices, coriander and orange rind sting with the carbonation to a mildly warming alcohol finish. A little simple, but a great winter warmer.

bottle: pours a dirty caramel brown with a good sized tan head, small lacing. aroma is slight sour with a small amount of funk, good sweetness in the malt and a slight spice. flavou r is excellent with a touch of sour and good caramel malt, slight spice that evens it out nicely.

33cl bottle from Knightly Spirits (Orlando, FL). Pours a hazy walnut brown with a massive thick and creamy off-white head. Excellent retention and ample lacing. Aroma is dark malt, molasses, dark chocolate, toffee, nuts. Flavor is very sweet and malty with notes of dark ripe fruit, molasses, chocolate, and cider notes. Medium body with a sweet malty finish. Nice winter ale.

Can’t really say why, but something about the bubblegum, sweet malts, and spices really make this my favorite of the Petrus lineup. Yeasty and raisiny as well. Its like candy! Good stuff when you can get it!

I’ve had this beer a couple of times. Be careful about half of them have had questionable quality. Pours a murky amber with a frothy light brown head. Musty, tart raisin, cinnamon aroma. Fairly thin, watery body with a full, frothy carbonation. A muddy caramel malt and chocolate flavor, with a bitter orange peel finish. Mediocre flavors and poorly made.
