Yeasty, spicy and honey aroma, slowly fade to reveal a reasonably tasty beer with a very slight sourness noted at the edges. There is also some spices and caramel in there but overall for a winter beer I was a bit dissapointed it could have been a bit spicier and more interesting. Dedollewaitor (3759), Odense, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 14, 2007 Bottle. Hazy burnt-orange color with a huge head. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 1, 2007 Bottle purchased at Falling Rock Tap House. Medium bodied, gritty texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2007 Bottle: Spewed from my bottle with an airy, foamy head over a bloody red brew. The aroma is vaguely yeasty, but is predominately fruity and sweet. This drinks exquisitely smooth, a very nice evenly made blend of caramel, tart fruit, and a hint of spice. How does this rate so poorly overall? I don’t get it sometimes. This is very, very good. (#3215, 11/21/2007) Charlzm (247), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 29, 2007 Updated: Nov 6, 2007Bottled, consumed on 10/29/07. Overflowed bottle immediately upon opening. Poured into glass a hazy golden brown with thin white head that lingered a while, more than covering surface in a trappist glass. Alcoholic, spicy honey aroma. Mild flavors of nutmeg and a pleasing, mellow tartness. Lightly bready yeast also present. Astringent but not outrageously so. Lingering thin bitterness. sneagrams3 (1759), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Golden honey brown hue with a skim layer of off white head. Musty caramel aromas. Full bodied and big palate. Big citrus note with abundant grapefruit flavor. Not too hoppy, but yeasty citrus. Nice and bitter. Good spices. Tasty. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2007 Pours a slightly clouded amber with some head. Nose is malty...and at first I thought I got a whiff of something like burnt toast. Basically this one has the aroma of a strong and very sweet Belgian. Flavor is strong with a syrupy sweetness. Borders on too much. Though the following sips seem to be more tolerable. Caramel tone is heavy as well. Feel is slightly syrupy, though not a lot of carbonation - but a bit above the average. Very drinkable as it is smoother as you go on. I could easily go for a few of these if I was sitting and relaxing in the cold winter.
