Pours a cloudy brown color with a thick, frothy beige head. Decent aroma of yeast, leather and spices. Decent flavor of leather, spices and yeast with a mild astringent feeling. Not bad by all means, but definitely forgettable.

Lively Belgian with a pleasant profile. This beer pours a muted amber-brown with a puffy, frothy head. There’s some haze as I get closer to the bottom of the bottle, but it’s just from the yeast cake being disturbed a bit. The aroma has a phenol, band-aid quality with touches of sweet cherries, spices and lightly caramelized sugar. The flavor is more successful, dry and lightly sour from a pleasant Belgian yeast. The beer is nice and light on the palate. There just isn’t enough going on for a higher score.

Bottle ( 330ml ). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with glouglouburp. Hazy reddish amber, large diminishing creamy/frothy off-white head - floaties in the bottom. Dry aroma, figs, sweet caramel & brown sugar, spicy, some alcohol. Taste is a little harsh - mineral, rosee wine, hint of vinegar, stronger alcohol, and dry, sharp spiciness - wants to be sweet, but the strong carbonation prevents that, it’s almost a touch sour, and slightly thin on the palate. Not bad.

Thanks to HogTownHarry, shared with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Nice dark amber with a generous off white head. Aroma: Winter spice, cinnamon, cherry, yeast and malt. Flavour: Quite dry, cherry, spice, very muted, some champagne type yeast and a nice long dry finish.

Pours hazy amber with a smallish cream colored head. Aroma is fruity and estery with hints of spices. Flavor is a little bit of dark fruits and caramel, with some yeastiness and lots of carbonation.

This wasn’t very good at all, especially for the $17 price. Very dry. Some earth and light malt. Just a little Belgian candi sugar. A little thin. From the style and the price, I was expecting a thick, full flavored Belgian ale or abbey style beer.

Sampled during Cellar’s final beer tasting in St Paul, MN. From a 750 ml bottle pours a semi-hazy copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some cinnamon, roasted nuts, raisin and some art cherry. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of toasted dark malt, raisins, a hint of apple and some tart brown sugar. Finish is slightly metallic with aftertaste if caramel malt, raisin and some yeast. It’s okay Belgian ale for the second last beer to run out at Cellars final tasting.

Color is a burnt orange with very active carbonation and a tall off white head. Aroma is a fruity sweet yeast scent. Taste is fruity and tart. Starting with a medium body it goes down fizzy with a creamy feel. Finish comes on with a tart apple taste followed by nice Belgian yeast notes. In the after taste the tart turns just a touch bitter and leaves you with an almost wine like taste. This is a great brew, a little light for a Winter brew but it is a tasty Belgian.
