Bottle. I know it is not yet Winter, but...Brownish orange, nice tannish head. Slightly oxidized fruity aroma with a hint of acidity. Bif and malty with a pleasant fruitiness and slight acidity. Decent enough, but nothing unusual.

On tap, De beurs, Meppel. Dark amber, sweet in the nose. Not that much taste I expected. Short finish, a bit sweet.

My brother bought me a 750ml bottle of Winterbier with a Chalice packaged together. I had gotten additional Petrus beers and this bottle lingered in my fridge. A slight foamer when finally popped, amber/orange medium body with dried fruit and spiced flavors.

Lively Belgian with a pleasant profile. This beer pours a muted amber-brown with a puffy, frothy head. There’s some haze as I get closer to the bottom of the bottle, but it’s just from the yeast cake being disturbed a bit. The aroma has a phenol, band-aid quality with touches of sweet cherries, spices and lightly caramelized sugar. The flavor is more successful, dry and lightly sour from a pleasant Belgian yeast. The beer is nice and light on the palate. There just isn’t enough going on for a higher score.

Bottle ( 330ml ). Shared with blankboy and garthicus, via trade with glouglouburp. Hazy reddish amber, large diminishing creamy/frothy off-white head - floaties in the bottom. Dry aroma, figs, sweet caramel & brown sugar, spicy, some alcohol. Taste is a little harsh - mineral, rosee wine, hint of vinegar, stronger alcohol, and dry, sharp spiciness - wants to be sweet, but the strong carbonation prevents that, it’s almost a touch sour, and slightly thin on the palate. Not bad.

Thanks to HogTownHarry, shared with Blankboy and I. Appearance: Nice dark amber with a generous off white head. Aroma: Winter spice, cinnamon, cherry, yeast and malt. Flavour: Quite dry, cherry, spice, very muted, some champagne type yeast and a nice long dry finish.
