kappldav123 (1066), Markkleeberg, Germany Jun 23, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Sourish aroma. Tastes mild, fruity, a little bit like plum. Finish too sourish. Only an average hefeweizen! shrubber85 (2584), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bottle. Strong banana, clove, and wheat malt aroma with a fairly strong cigarette ash smell as well. Cloudy golden yellow color with large white head - moderate effervescense. Dry lemon/orange and wheat malt flavor - only minimal sweetness but also get a hint of ash in the flavor. Not bad but I don’t know why I got an ashy smell and taste - not really a good flavor especially for a Weizen. djtoucan (30), Tokyo, Japan Jun 10, 2008 Had a bottle by itself (no food) in a a weizen glass. It was ok. A light faint smell of sweet fruit banana and wheat. Drinking it was ok. I agree with the user MrRomero below wishing it was gone by the time I got half way. So in comes my bad habits from America of adding lemons to hefeweizen beers. Usually when I do this to German hefeweizens it makes it taste worst. Luckily this time it tasted better than without the lemon! I did it again today (just to make sure I’m not crazy) with just throwing in a lemon slice after I poured it. From start to finish a nice sweet lemon after taste hefeweizen beer. Wonderful! I will buy this one again if the store in Japan Hanamasa does anymore! This is the best beer I’ve had by Pfungstädter so far! JohnCoyne (65), USA Jan 6, 2008 Smells lightly of sweet fruit, yeast is detectable. Pours with a thick white head that lasts about 30 seconds. Lacing sticks to the sides of the glass. Appears hazy yellow in color. Tastes of banana and yeast. Not a thick flavor, quite refreshing. mrant (255), New York, USA Jan 6, 2008 Smells lightly grassy and slightly yeasty. Very faint banana hefe scents. Pours a milky yellow color with a large bubbly white head. Strong banana esters with nice refreshing hefe wheat presence. A decent hefe, pretty average.
