40 oz bottle-Aroma of corn and any other malt liquor on a clear golden body. Taste was the same with the typical malt liquor aftertaste. Another nasty 40 ozer.

Wooohooo. I can fly!!! Wait a second. I can’t see!!! Oh my God - I’m flying blind... thanks mjames!
I have nothing to add that hasn’t already been said by others, but I’m thrilled to have sampled this nectar at DenverLogan’s GABF 2005 wrap-up.

Sampled @ Logans, courtesy of MJames- Pours a gold orange, small white head. Floaties in my glass! Aroma is corn and oxidation. Flavor is just terrible, oxidized corn, and other such nastyness. Almost threw up after drinking this.

Yes another sample from the mjames beer at Logan’s ratebeer gathering at the GABF weekend: Well, it is papery and musty, corny and veggie laden, and so badly oxidized. What the hell are those floaties, plastic? Well I lived and that is the best thing to say about this brew. HEY OAKES, where is your rating! hahaha.

Mmmm, phat boy...Had this gem with major props to Mjames on 10/1/2005 poured from the bottle. I’m going to take advantage of the ridiculous nature of this beer to do something enjoyable; write a short rating. Smells cardboardish and dry, with aged veggies and protein. Looked golden-yellow, clear, albeit for the protein chunks. Tastes lightly sour, heavily oxidized and cardboardish. I’ve had worse though, maybe it’s the larger than usual bottle. It’s pretty tough to describe, just an oxidized mess of a poorly brewed lager. But like Kevin says, it was fun to be a part of.

I was there, i had THE PHAT BOY. i was not pleased. i can only think that this oily veggie smelling brew probably smelled worse at the beginning iof it’s life. clearish yellow with a thin head by the time i grabbed my sample. just a sour metallic painfull, yet fullfilling experience. i would never drink this again, but damn it was an honor to be a part of the historic group. hell, iturned down hopsicle to get to this. and i am proud of that. thanks mjames for trying to poison to me. it was a noble gesture with a bad beer but i’ve had worse.

GABF 2005, courtesy of mjames. Big 20 oz, bottle looks suspect. Pours with a suprisingly big head, you’d think after supposedly 7 years in the bottle there would be no carbonation. Body is clear yellow- but wait! What’s that floating in there? I sure ain’t yeast cause this is in no possible way bottle conditioned. I don’t know what this was, but it can’t be good. 1 for appearance. Aroma is corny, chemical solvents. Taste is more of the same, sour with bitter and raw oxidized chemicals. Truly an abomination.

My first 40oz party ended the night with Phat Boy, and it is a good thing, this beer is best remembered as bad. Makes my mouth water in the bad way. This was a gag gift, as well, and gag we all did. But, I am a sucker for the look and style of the bottle, so it gets a 5.
